Verification
Verification lets an independent verifier review your emissions data, adding credibility to your reporting. This page covers inviting a verifier and keeping track of their progress.
Before you start
You'll get the most out of verification once you've completed at least one reporting year of data — see Measure.
Inviting a verifier
From Measure > Verification, select Invite Verifier and enter the Verifier email address. This connects that person to your organisation so they can review any assessments you share with them. They don't need to already have a TrackZero account; if they don't, they'll be prompted to create one using that exact email address when they first access the invite.
If you don't already have a verification partner in mind, TrackZero highlights a small number of recommended verification partners on this page. Select More info or Enquire to get in touch with one.
Once you've sent an invite, it appears under Engaged Partners. You can remove a verifier from here at any time.
Tracking verification progress
Once you've invited a verifier, your reporting periods appear as tables showing each assessment's site, emissions, and a verified line items progress count. If your verifier raises a question about a specific entry, it appears in a Pending Actions list so you can address it.
There's no single "fully verified" flag for a whole assessment. Verification status is reflected by how many of its individual line items your verifier has verified, and whether any issues are still open.
What your verifier can see
A verifier can only see the records you've invited them to review. They can view your answers, evidence files, and notes, verify individual line items, and raise an issue if something needs your attention, but they can't edit your data, and they don't have access to any other part of your TrackZero account.
