Projects
What are reduction projects?
Reduction projects are structured initiatives designed to help businesses improve sustainability and lower carbon emissions. These projects can focus on areas such as building efficiency, transportation improvements, and marketing sustainability efforts. By creating and managing projects, organisations can track their progress towards meaningful carbon reductions.
How to create and manage reduction projects
Step 1: Navigate to the projects section
- Click Plan in the top menu.
- Select Projects from the submenu.
Step 2: Add a new project
- Click Add Project.
- In the pop-up form, enter the following details:
- Project Title* – A clear name for the project.
- Description – A brief explanation of the project's purpose and activities (optional; included in reports that demonstrate planned projects if provided).
- Planned Start Year* – The year the project is expected to begin.
- Planned End Year* – The year the project is expected to be completed.
- Click Save to add the project.
Step 3: View and manage existing projects
- Projects are listed and can be filtered by status (e.g. planned, in progress, completed). Each project card shows its Start Year, End Year, Estimated Reductions, and a preview of its actions.
- Select View Project to see its full detail.
Step 4: Edit or delete a project
- Click Edit Project to update project details.
- Make necessary changes to the title, description, or timeline.
- Click Save to confirm updates.
- If the project is no longer needed, click Delete. Note: deleting a project also deletes all of its actions, so check before confirming.
Adding actions to projects
Open a project to see its Summary (Planned Start Year, Planned End Year, and Estimated Reductions) and its Actions, grouped into In Progress, Planned, and Completed. Each project can include specific actions, which are smaller steps that contribute to the overall reduction effort — see Actions for how to add them.
How are projects used?
Projects can be automatically included in Carbon Reduction Plans and regulatory reports, helping organisations demonstrate progress towards their sustainability goals.
