Report
Overview
TrackZero offers a variety of reporting tools designed to support regulatory compliance and management reports. Reports are generated using data recorded in the Measure section and can be tailored to different organisational needs.
Some reports are based on the licence you have. If there is a report you need but cannot access, please contact your account manager. We regularly add new reports so there may be more reports than the following:
Types of reports
TrackZero offers several general-purpose report types, alongside any bespoke report types your account manager may have arranged for your organisation specifically:
- SECR: Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting, a UK statutory report.
- Carbon Reduction Plan: draws on the targets and projects you've set up in Plan.
- Compliance Report: based on a completed compliance assessment.
- Carbon Emissions Certificate: a shareable certificate summarising your emissions for a period.
- Emissions Overview: a general summary report.
- Methodology: an AI-assisted report describing the methodology behind an assessment.
Some regulatory report types are request-only: rather than generating immediately, you submit a request and a TrackZero expert reviews your data before producing the report. Some reports also depend on your licence — if there's a report you need but can't access, contact your account manager.
Creating a new report
- Navigate to the Report tab in the main menu.
- Click the + New Report button.
- Select a report type (e.g., SECR, Emissions Overview).
- Depending on the type, you'll be asked for some combination of Reporting Year (some reports let you select more than one), Site, Reporting Period, or — for a Compliance Report — the specific completed assessment record to base it on.
If you choose a request-only type, you'll be asked to confirm you want an expert to review your data; TrackZero's team will then be in touch. If you choose Carbon Reduction Plan and haven't set a reduction target yet, you'll be prompted to set one in Plan first.
Methodology reports
When you create a Methodology report, TrackZero automatically generates a full draft while you wait: a section for each scope and scope category present in your data, alongside standard sections covering your organisational and operational boundaries, data sources, omissions, and disclaimer. This can take a few minutes; once it's done, you'll be taken into the report editor to review and refine the wording before finalising it.
Editing and customising reports
- Certain reports allow users to add or edit information such as:
- Methodologies used for data calculation.
- Conclusions summarising sustainability efforts.
- Contact Information for responsible parties.
Report actions
- Save & Preview: See exactly how the finished report will look, without generating a final file.
- Save Draft: Save progress to continue editing later.
- Generate: Finalise and create the report. Generating a report is final: once generated, it can't be edited, so use Save & Preview first if you're not sure it's ready.
- Delete: Remove a draft you no longer need.
From the reports list, download a completed report using the download action next to it.
Best practices
- Ensure data in the Measure section is accurate and complete before generating reports.
- Use the Preview option to check for errors or missing information.
- Customise reports to match your audience (internal management, regulators).
