Actions
What are actions?
Actions are linked to projects within TrackZero. For example, under the Energy Efficiency project, you might have actions such as upgrading insulation, switching to LED lighting, or installing PIR/motion sensors. Each action progresses through three stages:
- Planned – The action is scheduled but not yet started.
- In Progress – The action is currently being implemented.
- Completed – The action has been fully carried out.
How to add actions
To add an action, follow these steps:
- Click Plan in the top navigation.
- Select Projects from the submenu.
- Click on the project where you want to add an action.
- On the project page, click Add Action.
Selecting actions
TrackZero provides a catalogue of hundreds of predefined actions that users can add to their projects. These actions can be filtered based on:
- Category (e.g., electricity, fuels, refrigerants, business travel)
- Type (e.g., facility upgrades, asset upgrades, process improvements)
- Effort, Cost, and Impact – each rated Low, Medium, or High. These ratings are set by TrackZero and can't be changed.
To add an action from the predefined list:
- Select More Info on any preset to see its full description and ratings.
- Select the plus button next to an action to add it straight to your project.
- Enter the details for the action:
- Planned Start Date and Planned End Date.
- Assignee – the team member responsible.
- Impacted Sites – the site(s) this action affects.
- Estimated Reductions (tCO2e) and Estimated Costs (£), if known.
- Status – Planned, In Progress, or Completed.
- Click Add.
Adding custom actions
If the action you need is not listed, you can create a Custom Action:
- Click Add Custom Action.
- Enter the Title, Category, and Description of the action.
- Add a Planned Start Date and Planned End Date.
- Assign an Assignee – a team member responsible for the action.
- Select the Impacted Sites.
- Input Estimated Reductions (tCO2e) and Estimated Costs (£) if available.
- Set a Status: Planned, In Progress, or Completed.
- Click Add to save the custom action.
